Passenger record, over 9 million travelers in 2011 at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
December 2011

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for December 2011 was 752,353, up 1% compared to December 2010. December 2011 enplanements totaled 383,096, up 1.5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 279,070, down 0.2% compared to December 2010; American Airlines passengers totaled 147,120, down 3.5%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 83,818, up 0.3%; Continental Airlines (including SkyWest and ExpressJet) passengers totaled 82,879, up 12%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 55,047, up 36.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 43,732, up 0.9%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 27,133, down 12%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 22,902, up 21.5%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 9,931, down 50%.

December 2011 air cargo totaled 14,346,171 lbs., up 6% compared to December 2010. International air cargo totaled 858,158, up 28.5%. Federal Express carried 9.4 million lbs., up 4%; and United Parcel Service carried 3.1 million lbs., up 47%.

Air Services transferred 277,212 lbs of mail, down 46.5%; and 889,152 lbs. of belly freight, down 18%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,536, down 27%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 13,276, down 11%.

January – December 2011 Year to Date

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – December YTD was 9,080,875 up 5% compared to January – December 2010. January – December 2011 enplanements totaled 4,549,209, up 5%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 3,325,925 up 6%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,867,087, up 3%; Delta Air Lines passengers 1,042,106, up 9.5%; Continental Airlines (including SkyWest and ExpressJet) passengers totaled 910,241, up 1%; United Airlines (including SkyWest, Shuttle America, GoJet, ExpressJet, and Mesa) passengers totaled 602,723, up 23.5%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 545,704, up 4.5%; U.S. Airways (including Mesa) passengers totaled 370,281, up 4%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 251,062, up 18%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 155,674, down 31.5%.

December YTD (January – December 2011) air cargo totaled 153,371,030 lbs., up 0.2% compared to January-December 2010. International air cargo totaled 10,683,823 lbs., up 28%. Federal Express carried 100.6 million lbs., down 2%; and United Parcel Service carried 30.5 million lbs, up 24%.

Air Services transferred 4,011,897 lbs of mail, down 27%; and 11 million lbs. of belly freight, down 13.5%.

Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 56,470 for January – December YTD, down 4%. Combined operations (including Commercial and military) totaled 176,331, down 0.3%.
