Best Airports in the World honor includes Austin

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is one of the best airports in the world according to the Airport Service Quality Awards. The Awards recognize the airports which have achieved the highest passenger satisfaction ratings. Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards just posted its top airports http://budurl.com/ASQBestAirports.

For the fifth consecutive year, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport has earned a ranking in the top five airports in both North America and the world for excellence in customer service. In the 2010 ASQ survey, Austin-Bergstrom is ranked the third best airport of any size in North America. Austin’s airport is fifth world-wide among airports its size: 5-15 million passengers.

The Airport Service Quality Survey is based on the results of over 300,000 questionnaires completed by passengers at over 200 airports worldwide and capture the passengers’ perception of the quality of more than 30 aspects of service. The survey is performed quarterly. The Airport Service Quality Awards are the industry's most prestigious accolades and the world's benchmark measure of airport excellence.

Leading airports have recognized that the most important aspect of providing great customer service is a thoroughly clean terminal and a comfortable, friendly ambience. Top airports address the basics first. Top factors identified as high for customer service ratings are: ambience of the airport, cleanliness of the terminal, comfort of the waiting areas, availability of washrooms, cleanliness of washrooms, courtesy of staff and good shopping facilities.

Austin-Bergstrom has nonstop service to 38 destinations in the U.S. and Mexico. Austin-Bergstrom served 8.7 million passengers in 2010.
