Arrive Early In The Terminal
Passengers are advised to be in the terminal of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport 2 hours before any flights leaving before 8 a.m. and 90 minutes for all other flights. Please note that security checkpoints open at 4 a.m.
At peak times, airport security lines alone can be as long as 60 minutes. Passenger traffic is up at Austin’s airport, meaning more passengers in lines. Arrive on time - then it’s on your way.

Screening goes more quickly with travelers knowing carry-on rules. Liquids, allowed in only up to 3 ounce containers, should all be in a clear, plastic zip top quart bag and placed in the bin, along with keys and other such items, for x-ray screening. Limit one liquids bag per passenger. All electronics, including computers, DVD players and video cameras, should be removed from their carrying case and sent through x-ray screening.
