Central Texas Clean Cities
The Clean Cities Program mission is to advance the nation's economic, environmental and energy security by supporting local decisions to adopt practices that reduce petroleum consumption.
Central Texas Clean Cities is one of more than 80 volunteer coalitions that develop public and private partnerships to promote alternative fuels and vehicles, fuel blends, fuel economy, hybrid vehicles, and idle reduction.
Since 1993, Clean Cities coalitions have steadily increased the number of alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) on our nation's highways, with gains averaging around 15% in recent years.

- Lower preventative maintenance costs
- Lower vehicle emissions
- Improve air quality
- Introduce practical alternatives to gasoline and diesel powered vehicles
- Reduce dependence of foreign oil
