Central Texas Clean Cities and Austin Energy know that together we can help keep the air we breathe healthy. Our Electric Vehicle Incentives are worth between $150 and $500 to Austin Energy customers who buy qualifying all-electric cars, scooters, motorcycles, and bicycles from approved dealers.

Going electric means:

• Zero emissions for cleaner air
• Reduced dependency on foreign oil
• More money left in your pocket — a full charge costs 50 cents or less for an electric car, and as little as three cents for an electric bicycle
• Reduced maintenance time and expenditure
• Quiet, convenient transportation around parks, universities, neighborhoods, and more

Propane for Commercial Mowers

The United States is the major consumer of fossil fuels in the world. Nearly 90% of US propane supplies are produced in existing domestic facilities and remain a reliable alternative fuel option. Propane, as a fuel for commercial grade mowers, will provide benefits in cost and emission reductions in areas where operated.

Benefits of using propane in commercial grade mowers include:

• Reduced dependency on foreign oil
• Cleaner emissions
• No theft of fuel from the tanks
• Refueling ease
• Less equipment maintenance
• No spillage
• Engine longevity
• Less expensive than gasoline or diesel

New Incentives for Texas from the Propane Council of Texas

The Propane Council of Texas is providing incentives to any agency and/or individual in the state of Texas for the purchase or conversion of commercial grade, dedicated, propane mowers. Incentives will be awarded for purchases and/or conversions made after June 28, 2010 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

New Dedicated LPG Mowers

• $1000 incentives will be awarded for the purchase of a new, factory-direct LPG, commercial mower.(Original Equipment from the Manufacturer (OEM)).

• Qualifying mowers must be commercial grade, walk behind, belt drive, and zero turn riders purchased from a participating “Service Dealer.”
• Eligible mowers must be Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and/or California Air Resource Board (CARB) certified.
• All conversion systems must be EPA/CARB certified systems.
• Applicants are limited to five (5) incentive awards only.
