Town Hall Meeting: HIV Strategy in Central Texas
The Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department, the Austin Area Comprehensive HIV Planning Council, and a steering committee of HIV/AIDS professionals would like public input on proposed plans for future HIV/AIDS services and funding.
The health department funds and provides a range of prevention, medical and support services for individuals living with HIV/AIDS or at-risk of becoming infected. In 2010, over 2,800 individuals in the Central Texas area were served. The Austin Area Comprehensive HIV Planning Council and the steering committee represent a diverse group of HIV/AIDS professionals and stakeholders from the region.
Please join us for a town hall meeting to hear about proposed service priorities and to offer feedback on how HIV funding should be spent.
WHO: Open to everyone in Travis, Williamson, Hays, Caldwell, and Bastrop counties. We especially want to hear from those infected with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS.
