Intersection Closure at Rio Grande Street and 24th Street weekend of June 3
For immediate release
June 02, 2011
The intersection of Rio Grande Street and 24th Street will be closed the weekend of June 3rd, 2011 for utility work related to the Rio Grande Street Reconstruction project. Closures will begin on Friday, June 3, at 9:00 a.m. and continue through Monday, June 6, at 6:00 a.m.
Improvements will include installation of a new water line, installation of new storm drain components, pavement reconstruction of the entire intersection and replacement of curbs and sidewalks as needed at the intersection.
Periodic lane closures along 24th Street will at times allow for one-way only traffic, two-way traffic with lane shifts and full closure of the intersection. Detours and signage will be provided for through traffic and access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
The City urges motorists to find alternate routes to and through the downtown area, and to drive cautiously and courteously in the area while the work takes place.
