Place 3 candidate forum set for June 10

Candidates for City Council Place 3 will participate in a forum from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 10, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 301 W. Second St.

The forum, open to the public, will feature Kathie Tovo and Randi Shade who are in a runoff for the Council seat.

The forum is sponsored by the City’s Ethics Review Commission and will be conducted by representatives of the League of Women Voters of the Austin Area. The City’s Channel 6 will carry the forum live.

Early voting for the Saturday, June 18, runoff election continues through June 14.

Registered Austin voters may go to an early voting location in the county in which they live to cast ballots.

To be eligible to register in Texas, you must:
• Be a U.S. citizen.
• Be a resident of the county in which you register.
• Be 18 years old on Election Day.
• Not be a convicted felon (unless a person’s sentence is completed, including any probation or parole).
• Not have been declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law.

First-time voters who registered to vote by mail and did not previously provide a copy of their ID, must show a form of ID other than a Voter Registration Certificate before voting.
