Crime Information

Current Crime Information

This link is to the CrimeViewer, a web mapping application that accesses crime information from APD’s police reports database.

Searches may be accomplished using several geographic boundaries: neighborhood associations, police sectors\districts, zip codes, census tracts and a rectangle search tool that can search anywhere in the city. Additionally individual addresses may be entered and crime information searched within 250, 500 or 1,000 feet of that address. Updates to the database occur daily and go back the last 24 months from each day; the default search range is the last 30 days.

Color coded crime density maps generated from the Census Tract and Zip Code Crime Stats reports may also be viewed. Be aware that some zip codes and census tracts extend beyond the city limits. While the colored areas may extend to Manor, Cedar Park, etc, only APD data within the city limits is used.

For more info on the reports visit the Historical Crime Information page.

Due to several factors (daily updates, offense reclassification, reported versus occurred dates, etc) comparisons should not be made between the search numbers generated with the Viewer to official reports.
