Mission Statement

The Austin Telecommunications Commission's mission is to make policy recommendations to the Council with respect to concerns and needs of the whole community concerning "high-tech connectivity" issues by:

• providing leadership through long-term planning, community involvement and empowerment
• creating and maintaining a framework whereby Austin's interdependent communities and businesses can prosper in the local and global economies
• ensuring that the community has equitable access to the high-tech capabilities required for economic and social development
