- Bridging the Digital Divide -

What is the Digital Divide? The term 'digital divide' refers to the gap between those people have and know how to use technology (such as computers and the Internet) and those who do not. Generally, the digital divide exists between lines of education, economic class, location (rural/urban), age, and race.

Grant for Technology Opportunities Program (GTOPs)
Created by the Austin Telecommunications Commission and administered by the City Staff at the Telecommunications and Regulatory Affairs Office, the Grant for Technology Opportunities Program (GTOPs) provides money to Austin organizations and citizen's groups organizations for projects focusing on digital opportunities and bridging the digital divide.
