2010 Environmental Leadership Report
This report highlights water conservation and environmental efforts and successes by Austin Water for the past year. The utility’s 2009 effort focusing on water conservation resulted in the lowest one-month per capita water use in the last 15 years. Conservation, along with the importance of protecting and maintaining quality drinking water, were topics of community discussions in 2009 and are addressed in the report.

Commercial and Multi-Family Toilet Replacement
IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATE
There has been an overwhelming response to the multifamily and commercial Toilet Rebate Program, and demand has far exceeded our expectations. We now have pending applications that will exhaust the program budget for Fiscal Year 2010 if approved. Because of this, we are not currently accepting new applications for multifamily or commercial toilet rebates. Applications submitted to date will continue to be reviewed and processed in the order received. We expect to announce in May 2010 whether the program can be reopened this fiscal year.
