Zilker Botanical Garden is ideally located in the center of Texas' capital city. The gardens are on park land that is magnificently endowed by nature with handsome trees, natural grottoes, and aquatic features that have been integrated into a design of spectacular beauty and tranquillity. Featured gardens include the Taniguchi Japanese garden, Green Garden demonstration garden, rose garden, cactus garden, seasonal bedding displays, floral display garden, butterfly trail and garden, and herb garden, escarpment trail and the Hartman Prehistoric Garden.

Visiting the Zilker Botanical Garden is free and open to the public with pathways covering the 33 acres of gardens and displays.
Visit between 7am to 7pm from March - early November; or from 7am - 5:30pm November through March. Operating hours change in coordination with daylight savings time changes.

Rentals
Rental of different areas in the garden is available for outdoor ceremonies as well as memorials. The largest area available is the Rose Garden and it can accommodate up to 100 guests. Other areas are available based on gathering size. The rental cost is $250.00, plus a refundable deposit of $100.00. This rate is valid until September 30, and is subject to change for the next calendar year. The rental times available (DST - March – November) are 9:30-11; 11:30-1; 2-3:30 and 4:30-6; or (November – March) 10-11:30, 12:30-2; or 3-4:30. Only one ceremony is scheduled per day, per time period. Reservations are booked on a first-come basis.

The Garden Center Building is available for receptions, parties, celebrations, memorials and other types of events. The Auditorium Room seats up to 130 guests and rents for $520.00 for four hours (additional hours are available at $130.00 per hour). The Greene Room seats up to 24 guests and rents for $240.00 for four hours (additional hours are available at $60.00 per hour). Additional fees apply.

Photographers – Commercial photographers are required to register with the Zilker Botanical Garden Event Office in order to be allowed to take photographs at the Garden. Registration is free. In addition, there is a commercial portrait photograph session fee of $50.00 per session. This includes bridal, engagement, Quinceañeras, and family or group photo opportunities.

Registration and payment of the fee must be done Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Zilker Botanical Garden Event Office (in the Garden Center at Zilker Botanical Garden).
